Matt has played a key role in building Oceana’s brand, digital presence and supporter base over the past decade and a half. He’s also helped to develop several initiatives and ideas that have helped Oceana become the largest dedicated international ocean conservation group on the planet.
Before Oceana, Matt was a senior marketing executive and consultant for digital and marketing companies including SS+K, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Proxicom, Honest Tea and Zoom Media Group. He’s also worked as a legislative assistant for US Senator, a presidential (campaign) advance man and as a reporter for Forbes Magazine. Matt has a BA from Brown University and a MBA from Yale University.

As Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Matt develops new ideas and initiatives that help to reduce plastics and to save the oceans and feed the world (while also continuing to oversee how Oceana, as an organization, get the word out about the need to save our seas).
