William Fadely

Senior Advocate
Oceana Staff

Fadely joined Oceana in 2015. Will leads Oceana’s government relations and federal advocacy for Oceana’s campaign focused on preventing the expansion of offshore drilling and seismic airgun blasting in U.S. federal waters, as well as supporting federal advocacy to ban the sale and trade of shark fins in the U.S., and protecting the Marine Mammal Protection Act from rollbacks.

Before joining Oceana, Fadely created and coordinated Clean Water Action’s (CWA) Baltimore field outreach program, and helped to pass a ban on plastic microbeads in Maryland, organized state and local electoral campaigns, and developed environmental programs for Baltimore communities. Will worked throughout Baltimore City organizing local communities to support environmentally friendly policies locally and in Annapolis. Prior to his work with CWA, Will worked for Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger of Maryland’s second congressional district. While working for the Congressman, Will discovered a passion for community engagement. After growing up on the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Coast, Fadely is passionate about protecting our oceans, natural resources, and an active citizen engagement in the process.

Fadely graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University, earning a Master’s in Political Management.
