Are you looking to make a difference in the world and have a passion for protecting and restoring the abundance of our oceans?  Oceana’s Development Department is looking for a Director of Events, West Coast.  The Director of Events, West Coast is a senior member of Oceana’s fundraising team. The Director manages a portfolio of west coast event donors and prospects and is responsible for the planning and fundraising efforts for the annual SeaChange Summer Party and assist with the Los Angeles Event.

 The Director also oversees donor cultivation events in conjunction with Oceana’s Board of Directors meetings and several high-touch cultivation events throughout the year. The incumbent manages the Manager Donor Relations & Events who assists on all development initiatives and events.  This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Events and is based in the Washington, DC office.

At Oceana, “everyone is a fundraiser,” so the Director will have extensive interaction with other areas of the organization, including Executive leadership, Science & Strategy, Finance and Accounting, Marketing and Communications, and country leaders throughout the world. The incumbent will work closely with the Vice President of Global Development, Senior Director for Marketing and Communications, Chief Executive Officer, and President to identify and steward event leadership, donors, and corporate sponsors.
