Do you want to make a difference protecting and restoring the abundance of the oceans? The Institutional Giving team is looking for a Director of Institutional Giving to cultivate, secure, and steward relationships with foundations, including private, family, corporate and operating institutions. Funding from these organizations supports approximately 75% of Oceana’s annual revenue, so you will be joining a critical team involved in all aspects of Oceana’s operations. This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of the fund development process, with a strong focus on prospect identification and cultivation, building an expanded portfolio of institutional funders, and stewarding these funders over time. This position will focus on raising funds from foundations and entities currently not supporting Oceana. In addition, the Director will manage relationships with some existing funders of Oceana, particularly those that provide general support funding.
Come join a dedicated team of professionals who are working to protect marine wildlife while also enhancing the capacity of the oceans to feed a growing world population. At Oceana, “everyone is a fundraiser,” so the Director will have extensive interaction with other areas of the organization, including Executive leadership, Science & Strategy, Finance and Accounting, Marketing and Communications, and country leaders throughout the world.
Founded in 2001, Oceana is the world’s largest nonprofit organization focused solely on restoring the resilience and abundance of the ocean.
