Are you looking to make a difference? Oceana is looking for someone to help lead our efforts to change the policies and practices around the use of plastic across the global. This is truly an effort to change the world for the better. In this position you will help lead Oceana’s global corporate campaigns to get leading companies – including Amazon and Coca Cola – to commit to reduce the use of single-use plastic and help protect the oceans from an ever-increasing tsunami of plastic pollution.

We achieve measurable change by conducting science-based campaigns with clear goals (that we seek to win with three to five years). Our campaign teams are based in Belize, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, the United States, Canada, Spain, Denmark, and Belgium. The Director will help to coordinate with Oceana’s local campaign teams as needed.

She/he/they will be self-starters, able to create and manage models, write reports, understand, and negotiate with corporate executives, and someone who enjoys collaborating and working in a small team environment (and able to expand capacity through allies and consultants as needed). Strong writing, analytical ability, and strategic creativity and thinking desired. MBA/business background combined with campaign mindset strongly preferred.
