Do you want to make a difference protecting and restoring the abundance of the oceans? Come join a dedicated team of professionals who are working to protect marine wildlife while also enhancing the capacity of the oceans to feed a growing world population.
Oceana’s Field Team works in coastal states to reduce plastic pollution, fight the expansion of offshore drilling and seismic airgun blasting, put an end to the shark fin trade in the U.S., protect the North Atlantic Right Whale, and promote responsible fishing practices. The field intern will support remote field representatives organizing in coastal states as they execute campaign plans and carry out tasks necessary to meet campaign objectives.
Our Field Team is a dynamic and diverse group of passionate campaigners who lead efforts to influence policy-makers in their states and regions. We put a premium on collaborating with coalition partners, volunteers, supporters, and allies, and strive to inspire the public to take action in a challenging and often discouraging political environment. Field staff manage a varied and high-volume workload, and the field intern will provide significant administrative support for the full team. Applicants must be driven, highly organized, skilled at communicating effectively, and must be able multi-task, meet deadlines, and solve problems creatively and proactively.
Founded in 2001, Oceana is the world’s largest nonprofit organization focused solely on restoring the resilience and abundance of the ocean.
We achieve measurable change by conducting specific, science-based campaigns with fixed deadlines and articulated goals. Our campaigns focus on getting policy change in countries that, govern nearly one-third of the world’s wild-caught fish, including Belize, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, the United States, Canada and the 27 countries in the European Union.
We are interested in all qualified candidates but can only consider those candidates who have valid authorization to work in the United States.
