Development Associate - Oceana USA

Development Associate

Do you enjoy making a difference in the world? Do you have a love of the ocean and our natural environment? Join the dedicated team at Oceana who are working to protect our oceans, which play a critical role in reducing the impacts of climate change, feeding a growing global population, and supporting the livelihoods of fishers, their families, and their communities.

Founded in 2001, Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization dedicated solely to ocean conservation. We are rebuilding abundant and biodiverse oceans by winning science-based polices in countries that control one-third of the world’s wild fish catch. With more than 225 victories that stop overfishing, habitat destruction, pollution, and the killing of threatened species, Oceana’s campaigns are delivering results.

As a Development Associate, you will collaborate with a team of people that are dedicated to raising funds to support the great work of Oceana through major gifts, special events, and corporate partnerships. Your work will have a direct impact on the bottom line of the organization, the quality of the information we use to steward and engage with our loyal supporters, and the progress we make in reaching our fundraising goals for the years to come.

The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter that possesses a natural curiosity to find answers and solutions while maintaining positive relationships with people around the entire organization. You will have ample opportunities to have a positive impact on the work we do and a voice in how we can consistently improve our systems and processes for the betterment of everyone. Previous experience in fundraising is a plus, but a willingness and desire to learn will be a necessity.
