Director of Events, East Coast

Oceana’s Development Department is looking for a Director of Development to manage a portfolio of major gifts donors and to advance our LegaSea gift planning program. The individual will partner with members of the Major Gifts team and Executive leadership to ensure appropriate cultivation, stewardship and solicitation that results in sustained and growing financial support for Oceana’s mission. The incumbent will acquire an in-depth knowledge of Oceana’s campaigns and donor and prospect universe to upgrade donors to higher giving levels, build and manage the pipeline and workflow of his/her portfolio and work cooperatively with the Vice President of Global Development, Director of Operations, major gifts staff and others across the institution to achieve the major gifts fundraising goal.
The Director of Development also develops and executes the strategy for a comprehensive planned giving program, including building and stewarding a portfolio of planned gift prospects and donors. S/he manages the administration of estate gift expectancies to Oceana and inquiries from prospective planned giving donors.
