Mike Salamon joined Oceana as Field Director in January 2026.

He brings to the role over 20 years of experience leading advocacy initiatives and grassroots engagement campaigns for a variety of leading nonprofits including Alliance for Justice, Anti-Defamation League, Save the Children, American Jewish World Service, and The ONE Campaign. Mike has a Master’s Degree in International Relations from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Florida State University. In his personal life, Mike is the father of three young kids and enjoys hiking the many trails in the greater DC area, visiting art museums, watching Mets baseball and planning his next beach trip.
