Conservation Alternative to Modify U.S. West Coast EFH Conservation and Management

In July 2013 Oceana and its partners submitted a comprehensive conservation proposal to protect over 142,700 square miles of seafloor habitat off the U.S. West Coast from bottom trawling. In this proposal update submitted to the Pacific Fishery Management Council – the regional federal advisory body responsible for managing fisheries and protecting ocean habitat – we provide new scientific information, maps and analysis of the sixty-three ecologically important areas off California, Oregon and Washington we proposed be protected.
