In June 2023, Oceana released a Massachusetts statewide poll (link to results below) finding that 92% are concerned about single-use plastic products. Also included among the findings: 89% of Massachusetts voters support local and state policies that reduce single-use plastic and 89% support requiring companies to reduce single-use plastic packaging and foodware. The vast majority of voters support policies that reduce the use of specific single-use items, including plastic bags (72%), plastic straws (73%), plastic takeout containers (74%), and plastic foam foodware (75%).
The poll, conducted by the nonpartisan polling company Ipsos, surveyed roughly 425 adults in Massachusetts between Dec. 12 and 19, 2022.
