After years of working at the intersection of science, storytelling, and environmental advocacy, Debi is excited to bring her voice and vision to Oceana.

Originally from Germany, Debi holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Neuroscience from Georgetown University. Her deep love for the ocean led her to NOAA’s Office of Ocean Exploration, where she spent years leading education and communication efforts—including time at sea on scientific expeditions. A passionate scuba diver and lifelong advocate for marine protection, Debi’s work is fueled by a deep commitment to preserving our blue planet. Outside of work, she finds joy in kayaking, photographing nature, and spending time with rescue dogs.
