Oceana on NBC News Tonight
BY: Emily Fisher
Slightly late notice for east-coasters, but be sure to check out NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams tonight — the director of our Chile office, Alex Muñoz, will be discussing aquaculture as part of a series this week on the oceans called Sea Change, Our Oceans, Our Planet & Our Future. The NBC series was kicked off last night with a segment on overfishing. Tonight, Alex will discuss the promises and perils of the industry as it relates to the overfishing crisis. His particular expertise, of course, is on salmon aquaculture, which is currently wreaking havoc on Chile’s waters. Other segments this week will focus on marine protected areas and acidification.
