Senior Communications Manager, Coalition for Fisheries Transparency

Reporting to the coalition director, the senior communications manager will lead the development and execution of the communications strategy for the Coalition for Fisheries Transparency (CFT). This person will work closely with partners across the coalition to amplify advocacy campaigns and build visibility for fisheries transparency policies through media, digital partners, and thought leadership. 

Ideally, you bring a strong track record in advocacy communications, media relations, and digital strategy. You are able to craft compelling narratives for an array of global audiences. You have experience managing teams and collaborating across organizations and you have a passion for environmental and social justice.  

The coalition is co-chaired by Oceana, Environmental Justice Foundation, and Global Fishing Watch. The senior communications manager will be based at Oceana. Oceana campaigns to protect our oceans, reduce the impacts of climate change, feed a growing global population, and support the livelihoods of fishers, their families, and their communities. Founded in 2001, Oceana is the world’s largest nonprofit organization focused solely on restoring the resilience and abundance of the ocean. 

This is a full-time, exempt position. This is a two-year position with the possibility of extension based on additional funding.     

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 annually.

Oceana’s U.S. offices have operated on a hybrid schedule and staff have been required to work from their assigned office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. With agreement between the employee and their supervisor, the employee may work remotely Monday and Friday.
